Abstract Finding the location of the mobile phone is one of the important features of the 3G mobile communication systems . In this paper , a simple , yet accurate , method to position mobiles in a cellular system is proposed . The suggested method depends on a hybrid combination of signal strength level and time difference of arrival . The proposed method is shown to meet the Federal Communication Committee ( FCC ) requirements and compare favorably to existing methods .
